I wonder what the species was and what the length of the snake was. It was one helluva snake, whatever the species.
The longest snake on record was a reticulated python measuring 33 feet, although I think this record is supposed to be somewhat questionable.
The longest anaconda on record is 27 feet, 9 inches, although anacondas are more heavily built than reticulated pythons. There are claims that anacondas much longer than 30 feet exist, but this falls more into the realm of cryptozoology.
