Found out about this leather goods craftsman on Styleforum, so felt appropriate to post the results.

Was looking for a high quality, simple leather briefcase with classic design. I had purchased a belt from Hrothgar and was really impressed with the quality of the leather, and loved what I had seen of his custom briefcase work.

Started the custom briefcase process at the end of February, and exchanged emails for a little more than a week discussing design ideas and nailing down the specifics of colors, stitching, interiors, and hardware. From payment to the case arriving (UK to California) took about two months, which may be a little longer than usual due to it being the middle of a pandemic.

The design of this case was based on a $3,000 case I really liked, and all in with shipping this bespoke briefcase cost around $1,000.

It was a really fun undertaking, and Hrothgar was a great source of information throughout the process. The bag feels really high quality, and is made of stiff, sturdy bridle leather. It is wearing much better than the old Allen Edmonds case, which is made of much softer leather and lost form after a few months of use.

Great purchase, highly recommend Hrothgar for custom leather goods.

That’s a lovely briefcase which you can own and treasure for many years to come.
Amazing craftmanship too.
