From what I’ve seen, it seems you’re a younger bloke say mid 40s, please forgive if I’m wrong.
but as for you as well, what do you do for a living?

do you have to wear a suit for work? And how long did it take you to build this wardrobe?

hahha! I just turned 50!! I wear suits daily though nowadays sans the necktie. 15ish years to build the wardrobe.

Hi! I’m in business development and it has taken me about 15ish years to build my wardrobe. I would say the majority was purchased on sale and off season. And 90% of my suits and dress shirts are bespoke. I’m on the shorter side and have never been satisfied until I went full bespoke.

Happy Holidays!

Wow! My sincere respect to do it in 15 years and 90% bespoke. If I see this it’s an inspiration and a part of me want build a wardrobe as similar as yours. But do I really need it? Probably not. Choices..

Merry Christmas.

Can I ask what you do for a living? Don’t have to be specific. Furthermore how much time did it take you to build this wardrobe? Lastly from everything how much did you buy on sale, buy in store/online and how much of it is bespoke? Very interested on your response.

I downsized from a house to a townhouse a little over 2 years ago and have a much smaller master closet. I installed a closet system in my current and prior master closets. I do have 2 other bedrooms with very large closets and keep coats & jackets in a large closet by the entry door. I really miss having a large island.

I buy things I like and keep them for a long time. If I buy something I don’t really like it is gone immediately. I bought two pair of shoes this year that were worn twice and then were gone.

My current master closet is not easy to shoot so I shot sections.

I would prefer not to get into what I do for a living - but am in an industry that used to be all suits and ties 20 years ago and now I am one of very few to wear suits.

Almost all the clothing is bespoke. All the suits, shirts, and almost all the sports coats. Shoes are largely RTW, but a few MTM and bespoke

it took me +15 years to amass this clothing, in fact some of the shoes are +20 years old. I rarely shop the sales and have been buying at a steady pace

As for the wardrobe - we bought a house that we totally gutted and redesigned (added a basement, extended kitchen, replaced all windows, doors, internal walls, plumbing, electrical, fixtures, etc). I basically designed the house working very closely with an architect. And this was my reward to myself

my favourite and oft used quote from that move
The movie is loaded with great dialogue. James Mason is brilliant:

James Mason: Has anyone ever told you that you overplay your various roles rather severely Mr. Kaplan? First you’re the outraged Madison Avenue man who claims he’s been mistaken for someone else. Then you play the fugitive from justice who’s supposedly trying to clear his name from a crime he knows he didn’t commit. And now you play the peevish lover stung by jealousy and betrayal. It seems to me that you fellows could stand to do a little less training from the FBI and a little more from the Actors’ Studio.

Cary Grant: Apparently the only performance that will satisfy you is when I play dead!

James Mason: In your very next role and you’ll be quite convincing I assure you
