How would you wear an Hawaiian shirt?

How would you wear a Hawaiian shirt?

  • With sandals and shorts. At the beach.

  • Casually, with jeans and loafers.

  • Paired with tailored clothes, Pitti style.

  • All of the above.

  • I would never wear one.

If you'd like to read more about Hawaiian shirts, check out @SprezzaTrash's new article about Aloha shirts on the Styleforum Journal.

What shirt is this?

Shirt is from Barbanera but an older season. I don't think they have it anymore, but you can check their site.

If you have a custom shirtmaker, you can find similar shirtings on Etsy by searching for "Japanese fan fabric."

It depends on the width of the fabric and your size. I'm 5'10" and have a 38" chest.

For fabric that's 26" wide, I need 99" for a shirt
For fabric that's 44" wide, I need 80" for a shirt
For fabric that's 58" wide, I need 62" for a shirt

Best to check with your tailor for your specific needs.

well to make a jacket usually tailor needs 3.5 meters of cloth?

Im guessing 1 meter would probably do for a hawaiin style shirt, no?

Again, it depends on the width of the fabric.

For regular width fabric, I usually send 1.5m to a tailor. But if the fabric is narrower, then I send more.

For 59" width fabric, take 2.5m for sport coats and 4m for suits.

I would wear a Hawaiian shirt with chinos.

But I would not wear loud patterns, just small repeating patterns 95% of the time; very rarely a large map or something like that...
