I think both the Samba and Copa would be in the 7 or 8 territory if they just removed the stripes and labels. To me the branding is an instant deal breaker.

The huge tongue also doesn't help.

I like sambas a lot and have had several pairs over the years.

I do tend to prefer the Puma Suedes nowadays though. more colors and they just tend to fit me better.

I prefer Gazelles, or the Chile 62s in the England 1966 colourway.

The label isn't so bad--they're one of those 'classic' sneakers, gotta have that label...In general, however, I hate branding
