How would you get this cloth made up?

I really like the look of this light grey cloth with a blue overcheck. Its very much a summer look in my opinion, but this fabric is 11 oz. in weight, which makes it more of a spring / fall suiting.

While I would love to commission a suit from this cloth, I'm unsure if I'd like to wear something this light in October or March. Thoughts? Are my concerns unfounded?

3pc SB, nothing tricky. Plain vest, no ticket pockets or other doo-dads. Jettison the vest when it gets warm. Should be good for a sunny Friday in the City, or maybe an afternoon concert at the Frick?

I would go with that...in a suit, I see structural complexity to be on side of the seesaw from fabric pattern complexity.

I would go 3-roll-2.5 or 2B, slightly angled pockets, ticket pocket de rigueur IMO, maybe a little bit of roping at the shoulder, single forward pleats for the trousers.

Perfect weight for the "spring" weather we've been having lately. I have something very similar to the last pic, with a blue & rust overcheck that screams early fall.

Thanks guys - I phrased my question poorly. My question wasn't so much on the ideal style of suit for such a fabric, but rather whether a light grey such as this would be appropriate for the Fall.

If I do get a suit made from this fabric, iit'll be a standard 2 button, with notch lapels and double vents. No ticket / hacking pockets.

Which pic is more accurate under natural/fluorescent lighting?

The perfect spring weather suit. I'll be wearing one like it in the next day or two. Single breasted, two button with white shirt and royal blue with small white dot tie, and black captoe brogues. You'll look good anywhere from a law office to a gallery opening. If it's cooler top it off with Burberry shell raincoat.

I admit, I'm a little confused by this cloth. I guess I'm just not enamored with very fine, intricate glen plaids. If I wanted glen plaid, I'd want something bolder and simpler. From a distance, this cloth might just look grey.

The first pic is by far the best representation of the actual color.

I understand your concern, but as long as there are occasional bright sunny days where you live in Spring and Autumn, you'll be more than fine.

I have a light grey flannel chalkstripe and a light grey houndstooth that I use on bright sunny autumn and spring days. Not ideal for sunny days in the middle of winter of course, but fine for the turning of the seasons. In fact, they're ideal "bridgers" between the seasons.

ET, I would have no problems with the tone or hand of this fabric for the fall.
