How would you condition/care for this case?

Is it bridle leather? If so, it's more durable than you are. Use any bridle leather cleaner and conditioner.

as far as the briefcase,

you can always carry a hankerchief around the handle to avoid getting sweat on the leather (some fanatical Japanese do that)

the leather does not look bridle, so probably just any leather lotion will do.
