These things happen. I don't want to offend anyone, but really, I'm more concerned with how my friends that live far away will find out than notifying a message board.

Over the years, there have been announcements of deaths on a couple car forums that I frequent.

The straight razor forums are filled with death notices. They often follow notices of the same members who get Parkinson's.

kidding.

On other forums that I used to frequent there were a few threads about dead forum-goers. There are a few rather publicized stories dealing with one forum.
And chances are that you will see me on your local/national news followed by a montage of all the projects I have worked on.

I've often thought about this. However, even more sad is the fact that people I know in real life probably wouldn't know about my death in time to even attend my funeral. I keep in touch with all my friends online through email because they have all moved to pursue careers, etc. My mom would not know who to contact. Maybe by calling everyone in my cell phone they'd find out, but even then, if she dropped my iPhone, bye bye numbers.

A much better question, who would inherit my Engineered Garments and Alden collections?

LabelKing definitely. In the event of his untimely demise I would love a manbag made of his mortal remains.

I remember that kid who died in his dad's M6 that flew off the end of the runway. The posts he made before his death and other members chiding him about him not being able to control the car was real creepy.

In all seriousness, a number of us have expressed concern about notifying friends that live far away. While, personally, I'm very organized and my cell phone and email address books are up to date, much of the content is in fact password protected, preventing others from gaining access. Furthermore, even if I did leave a note in a safe deposit box with my passwords, I certainly wouldn't want EVERYONE in my phone or email address books contacted. Many are not close enough that I feel they would care, nor would I care if they knew or not.

So, this is really something I haven't thought about too much given my age and general health. However, I do engage in some activities with serious risk (including things like driving to work, probably the riskiest behavior).

Thus, it makes sense to have some system in place for notification of friends in the event of my death. Does anyone have such a system in place that they could describe?
