How versatile is this jacket

Hi All,

How flexible is the blue plaid SC in the pictures below? I am thinking of getting something similar or indeed this actual one from Brooks Brothers, together with plain front light grey flannel trousers - as in my DIY photo

It looks pretty versatile to me, and fine with the grey pants to my eye.

It looks good, but make sure the trousers are distinctly a lighter or different shade. The examples you have look a little too similar.

Really? The light grey flannel trousers would be the ones I would buy - which is very much a lighter colour I thought :S As below:
