Thoughts? Advice? I'm thinking going to my gym is going to be a huge pain so if there's anything I can do at home, that'd be better.

How about exercises bands with a door anchor and seated (obviously) or on the floor. If you get a heavy enough set (Bodylastics are great, same with Aylio Basic Resistance Bands) you can get a challenging workout. Bands will eliminate some of the awkwardness of moving weights around with a cast on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJqK...ailpage#t=130s This one burns with a couple of heavier bands

I'd wait around but I've taken 2 months off before and come out all the worse for it. I'm already upset I can't run but nothing I can do about that.

Willpower, those bands you're talking about - where should I buy them and do they actually correspond to a real weight? Meaning if I press X, then I should use a certain band? And do you recommend getting several?

Only the Bodylastics ones have actual weight equivalence written on each band (that I know of). That's one of their claims to fame. Not cheap, but at least it's good quality equipment. The bands are built with some type of anti-snapping technology, all clips are metal, their door anchors are great and they post daily workouts on liveexercise.com for free. Industry 1st: Printed the weight equivalents for each band (on the clips) so that users know exactly how much resistance they are using http://www.bodylastics.com/allproducts/ Look on the bottom of that page for a sale they're having on their heaviest orange bands. And here's an idea of the weight equivalence of the bands http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDHH4...ailpage#t=251s Here's a trick that increases the band resistance
