    Hi,
I recently bought a pair of the Steve Madden Hestonn Chukkas. Now I am new to wearing a Chukka boot, and in my opinion they are quite nice. I was wondering what you're opinions are on if I should keep it nice and shiny (more a dressy style) like it came, or if Chukkas are meant get a little worn and dull. I've noticed Clarks come in more of a rugged style and I was wondering if these Steve Maddens are just not that type of boot. Thanks, I hope to get some insight on this!

Do what you want. A chukka design can be either more or less formal, depending on the leather used. If it is a smooth calf then it is probably intended to be kept in good condition.

^+1. The chukkas you have however, are strictly casual. Jeans or chinos.
