Cashmere ties are fine with a white shirt. I think the issue is more about the formality of white shirts paired with jackets. But you can wear a grey cashmere tie with a dark worsted suit and white shirt, for example.

So light blue shirt and white shirt, same tie and suit and shoes. (The blue looks real light, not sure how to fix it)

lavendar in the “no go” range from Manton. and I get it, the lavender on the white is quite the contrast and creates a pop that the blue muffles a bit. I think in general the light blue shirt is the better choice, but I still like the look of the white. Especially given the season/climate/location variances. Living in the tropics, a little color and pop is a good thing sometimes.
I don’t believe that white is “wrong” for work environment.
