How to transform a tuxedo shirt into a formal one?

Hi

I bought from the forum an excellent Borrelli Tuxedo shirt. I was not familiar with the tuxedo no button but 4 holes both sides on the upper part.

It should be like this but no buttons or cufflinks on it http://i1.iofferphoto.com/img/item/3...10tuxshirt.JPG

I'm thinking about transforming it into a formal dress one. It comes to my mind to sew a cotton stripe in order to hide the holes and sew 4 real buttons on it to achieve like this http://www.tuxedosonline.com/images/...IGPAINEGFC.jpg

Thanks

What you want to do here isn't exactly clear, if you want to wear the shirt just buy some dress studs, and put them through the holes.
If you want the style of dress shirt that has a button cover rather than using studs you should just buy one, putting studs in and then covering them with a piece of cloth makes no sense at all.

My Borrelli tux shirt came with an additional strip of cloth with MOP buttons that can be used in lieu of studs. Yours didn't?

Don't all RTW dinner shirts come that way? Every one that I've bought has had shanked faux-MOP buttons that can pass for studs in an emergency, including the financial kind that might stop a person from buying a stud set.

That's why I'm asking - my two tux shirts (Barba and Borrelli) both came with that. Wouldn't the use of this thingy address the OP's question?
