How to Remove Wax Finish from Suede Boots

Hello

As the title says it, I just bought a pair of Loake Shilton Boots in waxed suede, however I prefer the simple snuff suede look.

Is there a way to remove the waxed finish from the suede safely and bring back the nap? Or would the waxed finish be "imprinted" somehow on the suede?
