Just like if you are wearing a tab collar (but you are not and want to get the same effect). Is it the way of tying? what knot is best?

A lot of this has to do with the kind of tie you are wearing. I have one tie that does this very well but it is a heavy silk and the lining must be stiff also. My wool ties work well also.

You can trick your other ties by tieing your tie with your head tilted forward and pulling up as you tighten the knot. This ensures that the rest of the tie under your collar is up as far as it will go. Or you can buy the tie clip that goes on the collar under the knot.

Basically just tightness is the key. Good tight knot (FIH works well, I find) and cinch it up nice and close.

It's called a tie bar; a tie clip attaches to the body of the neck tie and the shirt.

Interesting tip...I look forward to trying that one.

Another thing to keep in mind is that helps to have a well fitting shirt with sufficient tie space.

Yes, that is a very interesting tip. Will try it out myself too.

I seem to remember someone once suggesting that after having tied the knot, but before cinching it up, you can twist it under, passing the blades of the tie through the gap between the knot and your neck. This would have the effect of twisting the part of the tie under your collar so that the knot sits up as it tries to get back to its natural un-twisted position. (Sorry if my verbal description deosn't help -- perhaps whoever it was can describe it better).

After tying, pull on the tie on both sides just below the knot and "raise (i.e. protrude) the knot simultaneously.

I have found that you get this effect best with a stiff collar that is perfectly measured for your neck. If the shirt is slightly loose around the neck it is very hard to get it to stand. Also I use a longer distance in the back of the shirt collar and any tie will stand.

I didn`t understand that part. Can you please explain in more detail?

If you look at Jantzen one of the measurements is the length of the collar in the back of the collar.
