Hi all,

I understand that there are a few Silk Knot 'haters' on this forum but I was hoping to find out how to make Silk Knots for two reasons:

  1. They're pretty expensive
  2. It's hard to find the perfect colour combinations

I understand that the knot itself is called a Monkey Fist Knot but i am unsure how to create a silk knot with more than one colour. The material itself to make the knot is readily available on eBay in a huge selection of colours.

Thanks

Oli

Google will find you a couple of videos on how to tie this knot. However it seems like a LOT of work. Cheaper to buy them in bulk, I would have thought (try eBay for that?)

^^^ Exactly.

Silk knots are effectively conjoined Turk's Head knots that are either glued or tied from opposite ends.

I do not see how you call them expensive, 10 of them go for $10 on eBay - by any standards, that is just a dollar a pop.
