+1. By biggest concern when wearing loafers without socks is the fear of looking feminine.
I use cedar shoe trees for my boat shoes also. I do sprinkle a bit of powder in my loafers.
Fail. There are sockless gents in 30's movies... in trou/sportcoats etc no less... and in Esky prints as well.
Growing up my father always said that, "rich people don't wear socks". I never understood it. Now, I don't wear socks and he just tells me that I look gay.
Interesting there is so much talk about looking feminine when not wearing socks. Again, might be the trad Southern upbringing but I don't think anyone I've ever met has ever so much as hinted towards no socks being a look of the gheys. Even when I went to college in the North.
You have to understand my father. He rides a motorcycle, has two sleeves of tattoos and a handlebar moustache. He thinks just about everybody is gay.
Of course you guys would be called gay when you go sockless and wear all those anal beads and rainbow bracelets while sporting a tote bag
Pat, his name isn't Glenn is it?
Seriously though I was given a lecture by my father last night at dinner about the time/money I spend on clothes so I know where you are coming from.
Hey big boy.
No, it's LEMMY
There's an Ace of Spades joke there somewhere. But it's 5 and I am more or less clocked out.
botox for your feet. duh, winning!
I never thought trad and going sockless was part of a southern upbringing......barefoot, shirtless, with open beer container in hand, particularly before getting arrested was more what I envisioned.......
I remember watching Animal House and seeing the WASP southern college boy trad thing portrayed in the film, but that was shot in Oregon and most of the actors were from NY and CA.
I've seen no socks with loafers all my life. Given my age, that takes us almost to the beginning of time.
