i like the way these two guys look, taken from the wonderful sartorialist. i especially like the short blazer on the guy in the second picture; but both jackets are pretty sweet. any idea where i might pick up something similar -- even the same but different -- in nyc, which i'm going to visit next week? if i'm feeling cheap, i think i should check out zara/h&m, right? but where else? thanks!

Are those velvet or cordoroy? Do the details matter? It looks like the first jacket is 3-button while the second is 1-button.

now that i think about it, i like the second jacket better than the first, the one button is great, as is the roll and lenth of the lapel. they may be cord or even velvet but both are out of favor with me at the moment. too in or too over. also, i'm partial to single vents. thanks for the question.

the guy in bottom pic that you like so much is wearing Thom Browne (according to Sart)...so unless you have $4000 for a jacket....

the wool jackets at H&M right now arent particularly short...but they have some corduroy jackets that are gonna be closer to what yer looking for around $60

I interpreted Sart as saying that it is Browne's influence that makes the short jacket look normal, not that it is actually a Browne.

I seem to remember someone on here saying they fit a Regular, but got a jacket in Small (off STP, maybe?) and had the sleeves let out in order to get this look for cheap. Does this work? Does anyone have more info?
