How to gauge the quality of linen flat caps?

My favorite flat cap has been Lock Hatter's cashmere Gill cap, a treasured souvenir from London along with my Swaine Adeney cases and Brigg umbrellas. I find myself wanting linen caps for the summer.

Is there anything in particular to look out for linen flat caps? Or is it simple in terms of construction that you should be happy if it fits right, the color looks alive and the fabric looks like it has interesting texture when worn?

I just order bespoke caps from Lawrence and Foster. They are near me, so don't have issues with swatches. They just let me loose on the rolls of fabrics until I find what I want. They obviously have preset designs, so choose want you what swapping the outer material or inner material where needed.

Is there a blog or some other article that talks about the difference between the Lawrence and Foster cap styles?
