How Should I Use Paypal?

So I just signed up for a Paypal account, always used credit cards to buy stuff online before but thought paypal would be handy to have. Now I have a few questions.

What's the most convenient/safe way to use it? Should I add a bank account or credit card to my account? Or should I just transfer money into my account when I need to make a purchase?

Thanks

Use sparingly. Credit card only, if you have one (AmEx first). That way you keep the ability to dispute charges when things go sideways.

I believe there are extra fees if you use credit card, though. I use bank account, but only to buy small (less than $100) things.

Most likely I'd only use it to buy things. Do buyers get charged a fee when paying with a credit card?
