how should i polish these shoes

got these allen edmonds "polo" at the thrift the other day and im loving them. ive never polished shoes before and was wondering what i would have to do to make these look good. any help is appriciated.

I have those same shoes, bought them in '95 and they are still keepin' on.

I polish mine with black all over. then add a polish of cordovan to 'brighen' them up. These shoes are uber comfortable and have endured countless hours of jitterbugging.

depending on how scuffed they are, just keep polishing them and they'll look better each time.

You may want to go at them with some of the AE cleaner/conditioner before you use the polish. Then, depending upon the color you want to maintain, use the polish of your choice. For me, that is Meltonian creme. And I do very much like that suggestion of the black-all-over first coat. The purple color is just a bit too bright for me. But I do like the saddle shoes.
