I recently purchased a wide, platinum band for myself (an early Christmas present!) Anyway, when I tried the ring on in the shop, I had been wearing leather gloves all morning and I presume my fingers were slightly enlarged because of it.
At the time, the ring required very little force to put on and take off, and it would certainly not have slid off without deliberate force. It did however, turn very easily on my ringer, where it rests between knuckles. I tried on a half size smaller, just to be safe, and found that I would need a great deal of force to get the ring on/off.
Flash forward a few days later and I find the ring slides on and off with very little effort while my hands are cold. When they're warm, like after a long shower, it takes a bit of effort to get the ring on/off. It turns very easily.
Basically, the ring I bought, size 8.5, slides on and off easily at this point in time, the winter.
My question: How should a ring fit?
