The system like almost everything run by the government has how should we say design flaws to it. I am not going to use the funding as an excuse not to go back i just wont count on the government to do it. I got many great things from my service money and benefits werent one of them thats for sure VA is another broken government bureaucracy.

The new GI Bill is much better for the average Soldier. Though not eligible for the GI Bill, I'm using the TA program to start my Master's while deployed.

Yes I have heard that the new gi bill is much better. TA is very good so is the armys loan repayment program. In retrospect there are ways to finance the eductaion(student loans, National guard gives 50% tutiton wavers for state schools). At the time when i sepearted the last thing i wanted to do was reenlist. The army doesnt educate you much on how the gi bill works and how the stipend is rationed to you. They give you $100 and take back $99

Turned 20 two days ago and already feel too old. It makes me uncomfortable to be older than Magician, his birthday better be coming up.

Always thought Rach was at least into his 30's.

I had a dream last night where this youngish East Village type was on a little couch with a big book. He handed me the book, a medical volume which turned out to be his re-bound journal. As he obviously wanted me to read I began to criticize it for being so shitty, and then I noticed an entry that said:

    SF
    Maharlika

Now that I see 50-55, I realize my dreams are not factual.

And that's what 20 year olds think about these days.

How were you and kwilk buying beer at the arena then? I thought places like that were super strict on IDs/bracelets.

But at a Tina concert? Don't you have to be 40 just to buy tickets these days?

No bracelets or anything, actually. I'm 21 so I bought the beer no problem.

....And I drank both of them too.... ya know..
