I was told I should wear my pants a times before washing.

I am wondering how many times you wear your pants before washing.

Once for cotton - as many as 3-4 for wool pretty easily.

I can't remember the last time I washed my pants.[IMG] But I'm one of those that wears my dress shirts twice before laundering.

It depends upon the season. For a full day's wear of cotton in the summer twice is my limit, but when it's cooler I'll occasionally go three times. As someone said above, I wash cotton more often than wool. For wool add at least one wear, if not two, to the numbers I gave for cotton.

I normally wear jeans to work and I rotate between 2 pairs, so about once or twice per month.

I occasionally wear dress pants to work but they are all "dry clean" only, so technically I never "wash" them.

For those that do wear dress pants/suit trousers to work daily (even when rotating a few), does that mean you dry clean them once a month? Assuming 5 trousers, once a week, with 4-5 wears. Or do some of you just handwash the "dry clean only" pants?

That's also one of the reasons why I never buy 2nd hand pants.

I guess it depends, I have some pants that I wash every time I wear them as they tend to loosen up. I have some that I have never washed. I don't sweat at work, but if I have to go into the heat, I have to wash my pants.

Unless there is an anomaly (stain, particularly long walk on a hot day, etc.), I wear my wool pants 2 days in the same week (I travel 4 days, bring 2 pair), one week per month. I then air them out, and have them dry-cleaned quarterly (give or take).

I also own a wirlpool fabric freshener which I use occasionally if I went someplace smoky, or want to get out some wrinkles from travel w/out pressing.

I VERY rarely wash my denim. Again, natural fabric benefits much from plain old fresh air, unless you are greasy or spill stuff on it.

I have about 15 pairs of pants in rotation. So I wear one every half-month. And after a month I have all of them dry clean.

I don't think it's good for your pants to dry clean so frequently... so many chemicals.
