About once a week. I was walking to an appt yesterday and some dude said as he walked past me, "nice tie." It was a purple tie.

I think it would be normal to at least be weirded out, ya know. Also, being put in situations where you feel awkward aren't fun. That includes a stranger hitting on you in a public area around others....

Now you know how every girl you ever hit on feels...

TBH, I don't mind, I have lots of gay friends, and I've been hit on a few times, it's only annoying when they don't take the 'no thanks I'm not gay' hint and keep hitting on you.

Girls have told me I dress like Edward Cullen.

Then I started to realize that I dress like the vampires in True Blood.

That's something that has been on my mind, lol. I've never actually done that, though.

do you guys seriously get angry if a gay dude hits on you? [IMG]

I don't get that either. Gay guys tend not to directly hit on me either but I do get eye raped all the time. I suppose it is flattering to know if I was a homosexualist I could clean up with no problem.

"No, I'm not gay. Introduce me to your cute girl friend over there though."

Gay dudes sometimes have a few female friends. Be nice and they'll put in a good word for you. The rest is up to you though.

+1, wtf? I'm generally flattered if a gay guy hits on me. Why be offended because someone finds you attractive?

I get compliments pretty often, I also get the "you look like a gay/girl" thing all the time (gays and girls look the same evidently), but I stopped giving a shit about that in high school. I find the assumption that my appearance has anything to do with my sexuality amusing, if anything.

Comments or insults, I only care what a very small circle of people think about my appearance. The rest is mostly meaningless.

I could wear a blazer two sizes too big, a tie that extends down to my knob and a pair of khakis tailored for MC Hammer and I would still get the "You look sharp!" comments at my office.

That's how badly people dress at my workplace. Low standards.

No, no. His exact words were "I dig your funky jeans!" Although, I think they could probably use a wash. I take it as a compliment when a gay guy hits on me or compliments me. Although, I am off to a conference next week where I'll run into a colleague from another state (a gay guy), who is convinced that I, too, am gay. It's kind of annoying, but whatever. To top it off, my GF is telling me I should wear my daughter's leopard print bracelet. She's not helping matters... Alistair Hennessey: We've never made great husbands, have we? Of course, I have a good excuse. I'm part gay. Steve Zissou: Supposedly everyone is.
