Something like this did happen a few years ago, I heard. A mob of crusties charged into a building thinking they'd knock bowler hats from the heads of a few toff merchant bankers. They didn't realise that many City dealers are Cockneys and Essex boys, who made short work of the anarchist soap-dodgers. It's a heart-warming story.

Yeah I would definitely bet on an average trader over an average tofu-eating anarchist hipster. Damn, kind of makes me wish I was in London this week, but I am not.

Anyway, many many managers in the city are telling the employees to stay home if they have no real good reason to be in the office, of course that doesn't apply to certain positions.

Go to Trebor Sorbie at the Covent Garden and get a haircut. Talk to your stylist and be specific that you don't want to look like a banker.

No wonder we haven't heard from Augusto in some time... probably been busy stuffing a fake dead Canary for this celebration

Here's a new avatar idea

I spent an evening being regaled with stories from the heady days of the Seattle WTO protest. What a night.

I remember reading about this episode. Some group was trying to take over a building and the people inside not only fought back but beat the stuffing out of the would be occupiers. They were interviewing some goofy anarchist type who was holding his bloody head in his hands and complaining about what brutes the business guys were. Yes, it was heartwarming.

That is government money. Do you think the House of Commons will throw a fit?

As I understand it they were waving the bills out the windows, not actually throwing them. I would have gone a step further myself and and affixed some fishing line to a bill so I could throw it out and once near the protesters' level immediately pull it back and procede to taunt them with it until they all got hauled away or returned to their communes.

That's a bad sign. A few years ago it would have been fifty-pound notes.
