How much space do you need to play ping pong?

    In my current apartment I can get about 4' from the edge of the table per player. Will that do? Keep in mind we are not playing competitively, it's just for fun.

    You can play, yes, but even a modestly competitive game will require more space than that. You'll also need 4 or 5 feet to each side of the table.

    I would think that would not be nearly enough space? I would think that you would need to stand anywhere from 2-4 ft away from the table, and would probably need another 3 ft or so to comfortably swing the paddle.

    You better give that table a dual life as a beer pong table, as well.
