Maybe 2x a month I'll get a Starbucks or Caribou if I'm out somewhere.

You're dead to me.

I go to the Big Orange Coffee Truck that parks on the street near my apartment. It costs me $1.50 a day. They get their coffee from an importer... it's good stuff, not some swill.

I agree about the strong caps making poor lungo's. The lungo's from Nespresso are awful. Turning a regular cap into a lungo isn't nearly as bad. Branch out a bit. Like ama said, the new varieties aren't too bad at all.

In summer I cold brew coffee, so about $1.50 a day. Winter I just brew a nice pot of Sumatran or Timorese arabica for less than a dollar. I get free and revolting coffee at work, which I normally don't drink.

I have been told to expect a lot of Starbucks' gift cards as thankyous, bribes and kickbacks next year

Now take that number and multiply it by 365, then figure out how much compounded interest is over 30 years....

There goes a couple of trips to Italy during retirement.

I do this all the time. I don't like it too much with the blacks, but its great with the purples.
