Hey, I am currently traveling in Africa and will be in Iringa, Tanzania for most of May. While there, I am planning on having a three piece suit made at a local tailor. Last month I was in a small community in Kenya and I went to talk to a tailor that was recommended and told him what I am want with some photos. I'm looking for a European cut that is more fitted than most American suits with a full canvas. The tailor said that he could make me a suit with a full canvas but when I looked at his material he didn't have any wool in his shop, so he took me to a local fabric store where I still didn't find anything worth looking at. I'm in Nairobi for the next few days and have access to some fabric shops and have found some decent looking and feeling wool… I am planning on buying the fabric here and bringing it with me to Tanzania. I'm looking at a three piece suit so I am thinking of getting 4 meters of wool. I'm going to look for some Rayon/Cupra/Bemberg for the lining as well, how much should I plan on getting for the lining? I'd like to have a dual fabric lining like this: Does anyone have any experience in getting decent suits made in Africa? I've seen a lot of jackets around here that are very poorly cut so my expectations aren't too high, but I'd like to get the best suit for the money that I can. I am trying to be specific in what I want and am putting together something that I can bring in to give to the tailor when I go… here's what I've got so far, I'm still working on it, so I've very open to suggestions. Also, at what stages of the process should I plan to go in for a fitting? Once he finishes the canvas? I don't know anything about having a suit custom made so any advice is appreciated.
