How much is a Lanvin sportcoat worth?

I saw a lovely wool sportcoat at Lanvin store. With 40% discount it is tagged $1000. What do you think? Is it worth it in terms of quality?

I missed out on the cashmere beauty that Chorse offered on B&S a while back, I believe it was by Belvest. Dr. No has a nice jacket up currently in B&S, but not sure who the maker is.

Umm, I wasn't asking about the maker.

The point is if Belvest is one of the makers Lanvin uses, they'll probably be good. Whether the jacket is worth $1K, is up to you.

The maker is probably one of the best indicators of the objective "worth" of the jacket.

If it is marked "15 Fabourg" then it is from Lanvin's top line.

Regardless, if you like the jacket it can't be a bad deal.

It will definitely be full canvas.

Thanks for the info. Yes it has the "15 Fabourg" mark.

How does the jacket look on you? Lanvin never uses crappy makers, so really the "quality" isn't at issue. It'll last you probably much longer than you'll actually want to be wearing the jacket.

You could probably get a better "quality" jacket in terms of sheer construction cheaper. But, it won't look, feel, or fit like the Lanvin and might look like abysmal crap on you. BUT, it might have more "quality details."

If you like the lanvin and it looks great on you, $1000 isn't a terrible price. It's no steal, but lanvin is never a steal. A $1000 Lanvin that looks great on you is a better deal than a $100 Borrelli that makes you look like your Grandpa's Canasta partner.
