How much have you spent on clothes in the last 3 years?

1) Less than $5,000
2) $5,001 to $10,000
3) $10,001 to $20,000
4) $20,001 to $40,000
5) Over $40,000

Since there are variations in spending from year to year, I thought 3 years would be a good period to get a somewhat accurate view of spending.

Definitely in the $10K to $20K category, but I was stocking up prior to retirement. Much less in the 6 months since I hung it up, and I'll probably not make more than one Chan purchase in a given year in the future. Haven't bought any shoes in two years.

Probably less than $1,000. Then again I have no idea why I'm in this forum

Same here, I'd rather not think about it.

I've spent a frightening amount in the last 3 years total (probably $20K+, but I'm too terrified to actually total it up), but I've been doing much better in the past 3 months and (particularly since I now have Baby Srynerson on the way) I'm hoping to make it the rest of this year without spending a penny for clothing or shoes other than to pay the balance for several MTM/MTO pieces that I ordered last year, but which are still in progress.

For the total I was thinking all clothes and shoes + accesories (cufflinks, watches, sunglasses etc) of a reasonable value i.e. don't include the $20,000 Patek Philippe or $4,000 Cartier cufflinks in the total.

I have a small watch collection and if I included my various watch trades in the past few years, it would skew my total expenditure greatly.

Why would you not include a $20k watch? Id be more inclined to not include a $1500 watch, but a $20k watch? That would be the first thing I would have thought of in the total. I would have started at $20k before 0.
