How much do you pay for a shoe-shine?

    you can also pick up a horsehair brush/polish/rag and do it on your own.......

    $2.50 at Nordstrom. Guy did a good job so I left him $2.50 tip.

    At the bus station we pay 5 RMB. You sit on a small plastic stool, no thrones or anything like that. Not quite sure what he uses for polish, but it comes from a tube and looks like black toothpaste.

    Yea, that's what I was thinking. The guy did a great job. Even went the extra step (appropriate measures) to untie the laces and then polish the shoes.

    Fred - sounds as though you are getting ripped off... Used to be $75 fora polish & shine with a Happy Ending, on Sunset.

    Nordstroms charges $2.50. He does a great job and provides great conversation. I give him a 10 spot.
