$10 seems pretty common. Thanks for all the replies.
you can also pick up a horsehair brush/polish/rag and do it on your own.......
$100 but that includes full release.
get that man his own show....
$2.50 at Nordstrom. Guy did a good job so I left him $2.50 tip.
What do you tip?
I tip 3 on a 5.
Do you think $1.50 tip on a $2.50 shine is fair?
At least throw the guy a fiver.
At the bus station we pay 5 RMB. You sit on a small plastic stool, no thrones or anything like that. Not quite sure what he uses for polish, but it comes from a tube and looks like black toothpaste.
Yea, that's what I was thinking. The guy did a great job. Even went the extra step (appropriate measures) to untie the laces and then polish the shoes.
I usually just give him $5
Give him $2.50 tip
Fred - sounds as though you are getting ripped off... Used to be $75 fora polish & shine with a Happy Ending, on Sunset.
Nordstroms charges $2.50. He does a great job and provides great conversation. I give him a 10 spot.
