I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say we're proud of you! At one place where I worked I made the mistake of revealing that I paid over $3000 for a new muffler/exhaust on my car. Next thing you know everyone in the workplace was talking about it and many were questioning my financial judgment and sanity. Never again. If someone asks I just say that I buy everything from Japan and that clothing there tends to be 2x to 3x more than it is here. That usually shuts them up by allowing them to imagine an amount that is within their realm of experience.

I don't like it when people ask me about the price of my stuff. Oftentimes, it seems as though they're just doing it so they can question me.
I tend to only tell the price of my stuff to closer friends.
