I have around 58 ties
I don't want to count that high. Of Course I never pay retail.
How many do I actually wear. Maybe 30.
Never did I
Between -30% and -80% for me

I would say I own 35, but at least a few of those are either defective or were bought in the days when I thought that Nautica made the best ties in the world (i.e. my teenage years.) I probably have 20 - 25 ties that I will wear, with about 12 being much more my favorites than the others. Do you guys ever feel that no matter how many ties you have, you just don't have the right one for 'the occassion' (meaning whatever particular occassion it is)?
It is very difficult to match a tie with suit shirt braces Conclusion = One needs at least 50 ties to hope doing this.
I stopped counting at 100. Some are very cheap, some are mid range and some are quite expensive. My problem is that I have kept most of my ties since my teenage years. And still buy at least 5 new ties each year.
While I do wear one of the golden oldies now and then, generally there are about 20 of them that are used regularily.
A few months ago, I culled through all my ties and sent off to the thrift shop about 40% of them -- some I hadn't worn in many years and were just taking up space. (My office went casual about 5 years ago, so now I wear a tie about once a week at most; sometimes just once every two weeks.) Since then, I've culled out a few more, and added in a few really nice ties from the likes of Borrelli, Kiton, Ricci, and Massimo Bizzochi (including some great buys/ties I purchased from the always-reliable EBay seller "worldclassconsignment".
Once a year I've gone through my tie rack and weeded out the loosers. Some I've trown away, some I've boxed to have some laughs later. I have/had one good tie-rack that could take about 40-50 ties and tried to limit my self to that.
Now I have moved, quit my job and have not worn a tie in two months and during the packing frenzy I misplaced my beloved tierack so the ties are still rolled up in the box I packed them in. Still, I love ties and they make a great impulse buy. I just chanced upon Cerruti 1881 ties at an outlet and brought two home. Â I wonder when I will wear them next...
Does owning a Tie site count ? But for the guys that answered 50 or more which seemed to be the plurality here...As most indicated, they arent regulalry worn. If you wear a tie on a daily basis no matter how classic and timeless the tie is, after a while (could be a year, could be two, etc...) its gonna get a little stale. JJF
I have over 180 ties and wear every one of them. That means I only wear the saem tie twice every year. perfect for me.
nice solution to avoid using them.
you will keep them all your life long.
