Shirts are the one thing I've been neglecting lately...I have 17 right now but I only really like maybe half of them. I'm doing a one in - one out right now and I'll slowly be replacing most of them. However, I don't see myself going over 20 or maybe 25 at the absolute max.

Thanks. I'd say the vast majority are from Geneva in NY, and a couple each from NSM, Harvie & Hudson and Ercole.

My shirts are all pink, white or blue as well!

The nearest I get to a pattern is end on end!!!!

Once I've topped up my collection I'll have 15 shirts - that's enough for me!

15 to 20 is my magic number...

Enough for a good rotation ...

Maybe 15 shirts at the moment. Half of the shirts I like a lot (Isaia, Gherardi, Al Bazaar), while the rest is decent. In the future I'll focus on OBCD and linen because right now the majority is "formal" cut-away shirts.

15-20 good shirts would be great.

I so totally agree with both of you
My aim is also 15, but with odd family present to people who know I love shirts, 15-20 is realistic:):):).

I've just finalised my shirts order for 2014, and I'll have 16 shirts to rotate, which I'm happy wirh:)

    Tragedy

My oldest current AM bespoke shirt has ripped (on the machine sewn seam, not the handsewn one!)

I must have worn it over 150 times but I'll just wear it at home until it disintegrates.

I think the shirting has worn too thin to make an alteration worth it, plus I've lost several stone since I had it made through terminal illness.

I can't afford more than 5 from Anna, although a secret friend in Naples has promised to make me a new shirt, so I'm not ready to throw it away as next year I may be too ill to order any and they'll just be expensive pj tops sitting in a hospital bed.

What a horrible way to end the year - my first 2 Anna shirts wore out in 2011 and since then they've lasted, although I don't have many..

I recently started getting a few custom shirts, got 3 at first, and then I'm at like 20 within 2 months.

I have about 25 dress shirts (all MTM).

I am restocking my "strictly business" shirts by ~5, this time going bespoke or some such. Got too many more casual fabrics for a while, and an 'organic cleaner' destroyed 4 business shirts.

20 shirts would be enough if they all fit right (one set of my MTMs was is a bit bigger than I would like) and were an optimal mix of patterns and colors (or lack thereof).

15 MTM right now. I plan to add 5 more and feel like I'll be totally all set at that point for all 4 seasons and both solids and patterns.

I think I own somewhere in the range of 20-30, the goal ought to be 10-15 (perhaps 20) but I'd realistically like to develop a 'life uniform' of certain styles (blue, white cutaways, some spreads and some ocbd), the more classic, the better, I say and only shirts I'd wear in rotation.

Though, I really feel I need to purge my closet of clothing because I have two rolling racks for shirts, suits and sports coats, with a mix of shirts that are in heavy rotation and some that aren't getting any love and a how rack of sports coats that aren't getting any wear.

I worry I am becoming a clothes horse, as my thrifting and ebaying habits are pretty extensive. Today might be the first day of setting the goal of avoiding these places or at least shop more sparingly from now on.

I'd love to stay active here, but surround myself with SF members who want a classic and sensibly proportioned wardrobe.

I'll be looking to sell some goods here, mostly my collection of lightly used Coppley blazers and an assortment of selvedge or well-made denim.

This is not a question I would like to think about at the moment...

Inside my wardrobe (including the one I'm wearing ) I've got 11, but I've got 7 bespoke shirts. On order for 2014: they are my weakness!

After this I won't buy Ny more in 2014, and possibly 2015 as well.

I hate to think how much it will cost me, but they feel so amazing against my skin...

I will have to pay for them one at a time!

All of my shirts are light blue, light pink or white, and it makes for a very pretty wardrobe.:)

    But a very expensive one...

We all seem to be in agreement that about 20 nice shirts is the optimum number, which is about where I'll be when I've bought this years supply:)
