How many miles did you run today?

3.5 miles running (mostly gravel) to the park. Then I played with kids for a bit and walked the 1.5 miles back with the family.

Hey thanks for the thoughts and kind words y’all!

Paging back and seeing all you guys out there crushing it with your families hits home in a new way. Glad to see everyone is doing so well.

Had a boy, a month and change ago. I’m clearly a slow adopter to the scheduling of a newborn, haha. All things are well though! Will be running more soon… Pushing a stroller and pulling a dog, lol.

^ Congrats on the new addition to the household @Dusty Heaters My oldest just turned 12 yesterday and I'd tell you that it just keeps getting easier, but....

After another week of high heat and heavy humidity, the weather was fantastic this morning so I decided to go for another 5k PR at the track. I needed 19:06 but ended with 19:11. I'm not unhappy with the results and I'm pretty confident that I can still get to 19:06 or better before the fall so I think I'll try again in a few weeks. I did manage to set a 1k PR of 3:23 (an 8 second improvement from my previous PR) though so that was pretty good,

26 "miles" on the trainer yesterday. I need to retest to establish my current FTP. This was workout was 5 x 10 min just sub-threshold, but the intervals weren't taxing my system hard enough to get into the target HR zone. Pushed up to 110% for the final interval, and that was more like it.

7.3 miles last night. Looked like the skies were going to open up at any time but only some sprinkles until I hit the car. It may be cooling off just a little here as I was able to push hard at the end.

No running yet today, hopefully I can get out for a run later. We’re getting ready for some kayak fishing.

4.5 miles. First 3 in stifling 95 degree temps with ungodly humidity. Last 1.5 in a pop-up severe thunderstorm, which apparently, mother nature saw fit to do in a bit and switch move to prove the Apple weather tile wrong for today, which was seeing "light drizzle". It gave me incentive to haul ass for each foot of that mile and a half though with thunder and lightning snap, crackle and popping all around me..

I never did get around to running today, but I did kayak about four miles and walk around the lake with the family (about 2.1 miles). I also introduced my 3.75-year old to the fun of foraging (we found raspberry, wax currant, and serviceberry).

I don't believe service berries are real.

Funny you say that. That particular island, on this particular lake is the only place I’ve found them.

After yesterday's relatively intense workout, I expected to be dragging today. Instead, I accomplished two of my summer goals ahead of schedule! I reset my PR on Tunnel Rd. from 20m42 to 19m12s and was decidedly not the last person up the climbs. Surprisingly, that new PR came at a lower average power, probably due to better pacing and making the watts count on the steeper sections. Unfortunately, one of us crashed on the last big descent. Somehow, he seems to have escaped with just road rash and a little gnar on his shifter hoods.
