I got in the gym yesterday then a 30min Peloton class in the evening. I only go twice a week currently as I make my son's lunch when I wake up so super early is tough and sometimes meetings start early as well. I would like to go 3 times a week so maybe in the future.

I’ve been on vacation for the past week in Paris and Marseille. First time I’ve picked up a barbell in 10 days. Squats and deadlifts felt heavy AF for weight that’s normally a warmup or lightweight workout. I’ll need to spend a couple of weeks reconditioning myself before I start up my next training block. This also means I won’t be able to do the Houston Weightlifting championships in 2 weeks.

19 miles this afternoon. Gorgeous day. I've realized that my current lack of fitness has made my lowest gear a bit too tall for the power I can put out for a sustained period, so now I'm grinding up hills at 55-60 rpm. sigh I was dead last in the group going up the first set of hills, and by quite a margin, so I peeled off before we got into the more remote hills. Still, it was a good ride in great weather.

3 miles this morning from my daughter's school back to home. 20:59. I've run this route 9 times now this year and this was by far the fastest effort at 41 sec/mile below my average.

Was going to run during my sons soccer practice but a few kids did not show up. Since it was the last practice of the season, we played kids (kindergarteners) vs. parents. It was a lot of fun and incredibly hot. Running would have been miserable.

Speaking of soccer - I was just reading something about how the average World Cup soccer player runs about 7 miles in each match. That’s crazy!

I too have a kindergartner who is now playing soccer. Next time she complains about being tired after her next practice and game, I’m going to have to tell her that she’s actually got to get back out there for a few more miles!

Because it was Bike To Work Day, I rode into the office this afternoon. Some of my colleagues were doing a painting class in the common room. I searched fruitlessly for data correlations and ate a mochi doughnut with fruity pebbles on top. (See what I did there?) A bit more than 9 miles round trip…
