How many miles did you run today?

8 “miles” this evening before indulging myself with some Five Guys. Short workout, but pretty intense

The pause around 12 minutes is when the stem started twisting away from straight ahead. I changed back to a shorter stem to get closer to the geometry I have on my main bike, and I forgot to torque up the pinch bolts!

^ I haven’t had Five Guys in a very very long time but I noticed they’re building one not far from my office. I’ll have to check it out once they open up this spring.

I got my first COVID-19 vaccination yesterday and when I work up my calves were killing me. I thought this was probably some muscle soreness related to the shot but then I remembered I got lost in the VA hospital yesterday and ended up going up and down 8 flights of stairs and then I had to go up and down 6 more flights in the parking garage. I can’t remember the last time I had to use stairs!

Anyway… I got in 8.5 miles this morning at an 8::2/mile pace. It’s now getting spring-like enough that I need to take my sunglasses with me on my runs in the morning. If only the temperatures would cooperate!

12 trail miles today. Was going for 17 but my left quad wasn’t having it. I’ve noticed my right leg always feels great but my left side is always tight and I can’t loosen for the life of me. This must be some sort of gait thing or I just favor my left leg in general but it hampers longer running efforts. I shut it down and came home to stretch and do some other leg work.

Bearing in mind that I am no kind of biomechanical specialist or trainer, I don't know if you pay much attention to cadence and form, but quad pain can result from overstriding. So, if you could shorten your stride and increase your cadence, it might help.

On the other hand, you could just roll it - which is, as we all know, the answer to everything...

15 “miles” this morning, high-cadence intervals at tempo. I need to get an actual cadence sensor because the inferred cadence the Kickr is doing has a fair amount of latency and will even drop out completely if you’re too smooth at a higher cadence. My inkling is that you don’t produce a sufficiently pronounced spike in force for the device to register the stroke.

I was supposed to ride outside today, but my riding partner asked to switch to tomorrow to give his sore quad a bit more time to recover. I hope the weather holds because today was a beaut.

Okay, just tried out what I hope to do 2x weekly prior to heading into the office. From the time I left the house to the time I put my bike into it's storage spot, 59 minutes. Ten miles out and back, out flat to 3% grade, and of course, back flat to -3% grade. Today 10-15 mph wind directly on my beam both ways.

Another day of picture perfect weather so I hit the track again. My 400m time was better today than it has been the past few months. I managed to get 71 second 400m but when I started my acceleration my elbow started hurting. Now I have a lot of discomfort in my elbow when I try to do simple things like open the refrigerator door.

Some days you feel great and some days you don't. Today was in the latter category. No particular reason, no injuries, just didn't feel 'on'.

Long run, 18.3km (11 1/3 miles) in 1:40:09, which is an easy 5:28/km (8:48/mile) pace. A little bit slow, but I don't worry too much with easy runs. 2ºC, sunny, but a cold wind as usual here.

Nice day off tomorrow, which I feel like I need.

I’ve been thinking about trying it, but I keep seeing reviews that suggest they might not have the best quality control. I’d buy it from a place with an easy return policy (cough, cough, REI).
Is there another thread on here that discusses fitness/work out/athleisure wear?

Also thought about trying their ripstop pants, but several of their reviews indicate the pants are ripping at the knees.

22.63 mile ride around the island today with a stop to pick up dinner at a local spot. 102m 35s moving time.

The weather held. Beautiful day in the bay. 26 miles, mostly in zone 2 per the plan. When I got home, I got sucked into helping my wife remove a tree stump in the backyard, adding about 90 minutes of workout that I hadn’t planned to do...
