10.4 miles this morning along with trips to the tops of the 5 parking garages in our downtown. It was pretty frosty out there this morning too with temps in the low 20s.

I got in 7 miles yesterday afternoon. The weather was perfect so I stopped at this bench and enjoyed the scenery before finishing the last ~1.5miles. The bench is a popular stopping spot so this is the first time it has been free in a few weeks.

I missed my long run on the weekend for no good reason other than that I couldn't be bothered! Anyway, today was a 13.2km (8 1/4 mile) easy run - supposed to be 5:15/km (8:27/mile) pace, but I was feeling saucy so I finished in 1:06:12, which is 5:01/km (8:04/mile) pace.

8 miles last night, 8:25 pace. Eerily empty in town last night but quite pretty, 40F with no wind and very clear. I’m not sure if it was the time (ran around 7:30pm) or if everyone has already decamped for the holiday but it felt like two friends and I where the only ones around.

10 miles this morning. The first 6+ were relatively slow but I cranked it up for the final 3 to set PRs on a couple segments in my neighborhood. I also managed my 3rd best times in 1k (4:08), 1 mile (6:43), and 15k (116:04). My overall pace for the morning was 8:15/mile.

Our downtown is usually pretty empty on holidays. It’s always a strange feeling running through late at night with everything lit up and not many people out there. It will be interesting to see if it empties out as much this year too since people probably aren’t heading out of town in such numbers like normal.

It snowed last night, but it's already melted into mud. I did my hill repeat / strength XC laps - same as last week: 5 x 1.4km = 7km (4 1/3 miles). But I was a fair bit slower than last time in 31:29 which is 4:30/km (7:14/mile) pace. I tried to be a bit more controlled but ended up just slower overall, maybe because it was quite boggy in places. Lap times: 6:23 / 6:05 / 6:21 / 6:25 / 6:11.
