3.5 miles with the dogs on the local trails after spending most of the day at Rocky Mountain NP with my boys. It’s amazing how much easier running feels after spending much of the day at 10,000+ feet. Temps in the upper 80s.

10k tonight with the club. Humidity was a killer (I soaked through everything in the few miles before meeting the club) but felt really good even after last night’s strength. Took it easy and managed an 8:10 pace average. I like the heat.

Did a long run last night. It was hot here (30 degrees when I set off at 5pm) and I felt the effects by the end. Was inspired to do the full marathon distance by all these FKT attempts I’m seeing. Races being cancelled presents a good opportunity to experiment with training. Legs are fine this morning but that chafing... never again

Did 5.25 today. Felt really queasy when i woke up. Took about 30 to get going and when i finally left after about four blocks felt REALLY queasy and started walking home. But i said ******* and decided to power through. No stopping after that.

I rub my thighs with Aquaphor before setting out on anything longer than 7 miles in the summer. I realize people have different Anti-chaff methods but this one has worked well for me.

5.7 miles for me this morning. I wanted to get in at least 8.0 but I woke up later than planned and I had to make my once every two week trip into the office this morning so only time for a shorter run. I might try to get out for another short run this evening (maybe the same route as I ran this morning) to get me up over my goal for the day, plus, I haven't run late in the day in a long time.

@FlyingMonkey I tried to PM you but it says you have disabled PMs. Hoping you could help m out with something in Canada. Mind PMing me?

Here's all you need to know about running in Canada: Timbits make a good, carb heavy fuel and 1 mile = 1.609 km

So the Barkley Fall Classic is a no go based on recent info. Due to the toughness of the race and COVID circumstances, they are only allowing 125 people total and a pre-req of having completed the race before. Oh well....maybe next year.
