Do you guys foam roll? I started recently after one ART session and for me it’s made all the difference. A lot of pains that I couldn’t make sense of ended up being muscle adhesions that needed squashed out.
I do after weight training and most evenings while watching TV. It definitely helps.

I know that it works for me, but I almost never do it unless I'm painfully tight. I'm a dummy, obvs

So it seems like everyone’s heard good press about foam rolling, might even own one, but rarely use it. Lol. I can’t say I blame you. It’s a horrible experience. I don’t understand how people say it actually feels good. Maybe the following day, but certainly not during.

I was instructed to find a spot that feels glaringly sensitive, like a bruise or a sharp pain sensation when pressure is applied, then put steady force directly on that spot with your body weight and roll slowly back-and-forth until the pain isn’t as awful as when you started. Does that at all sound accurate?

Edited — Totally forgot to add the question.

I walked four miles with the dogs with a stop for a new release from a local brewery (Most Stuffed by Gunbarrel Brewing Co. (Oreo-flavored stout -it’s pretty tasty).

I wouldn't quite say sharp pain. When I think of sharp I think of you are doing something wrong or causing undo pain. Foam rollers can do this but go easy. If something will loosen up it will loosen up without much effort.

5.3 with the dogs on a mix of gravel and pavement. The temps were in the low 40s with a few sprinkles. I felt pretty good.

5 with the dogs (3 on trails) with temps in the upper 40s. This was my first run in a new pair of shoes (Altra Superior 4). So far, they seem perfect.

Edit: the shoes must be pretty good, I PR'd four Strava segments that I run all the time. :foo:

Starting to get used to these flat earther shoes (Altra Escalante). At first they felt a little too firm for my taste but after 30 miles or so my form is starting to adapt for the better. Quicker turnover, consistent footfall, and more power from the toe-off phase of the run cycle. Really comfortable just to walk around in too.

I got in 3.8 miles yesterday followed by some yard clean up since it was nice out. I will have to ramp up to my old 7 miler route...I was breathing heavy on this run and it was a 9min/mi pace.
