2.4 miles. I timed it perfectly between the showers inundating San Francisco, and I stayed dry.

4.5 with the the dogs this afternoon at long race pace. Temps in the low 50s.

That was after a kettlebells and weights workout at the gym and before climbing at the gym (I climbed 14 routes -about 560’- in 70 minutes.

3 miles last night. It was oddly misty but I didn't feel wet at all at the end of my run....

6.3 miles for me last night. I still need 12 more to meet my weekly goal and we've got a few inches of snow in our forecast. I was hoping to get a quick 5 this morning but I decided to sleep in a bit longer so maybe I'll get out there as soon as I get home from work this evening.

Trotting about in windy low single digits. My run buddy is an absolute unit of a woman...I don’t think she needs to breathe.

5.3 miles in the snow this afternoon (and 3.0 on the treadmill this morning).

My daughter was at a 3 hour long Girl Scout event at a university near our house. It’s a pretty hilly (for metro Detroit) campus and very scenic so I took my running gear with me. We got about 3”+ of snow today after pretty much nothing so far this winter so it was nice to get out there and hear the crunch, even if I did need to slow down a bit.

I’m also happy to report that my new Nike Pegasus Shields kept my feet and socks bone dry, even when trekking through some knee-high drifts on the golf course.

@Michigan Planner — Sick dude. The snow missed us up here, all we got was the real feel negatives.

Is the peg sheild a trail shoe? I’ve yet to try anything trail from Nike, but I’m a fan of their roadie products.

MCM, you were in the corps too right?

6 miles at M pace to break in the new XeroShoes TerraFlex. These are minimally padded and zero drop. My pace was spot on, and accelerations felt easy thanks to the lighter weight of the shoes. These are keepers...

@Dusty Heaters - It was supposed to be a lot colder here today but the temps stayed in the 20s. It doesn’t look so lucky the next two days as the high won’t be above the single digits until at least Tuesday. Time to dig out the polypropylene face mask with the horrifying face!

The Pegasus 35 Shield is marketed as a trail shoe and it handled alright, even on a couple slick lengths of sidewalk I ran on today but its lugs are pretty low profile. The traction seems fine but I think I’d be more comfortable with something a bit more aggressive. I have an old pair of Mizuno that I save for rough winter weather and I’ll switch back to them if I start slipping around in these.

I served 6 years on active duty: ‘97 to ‘01 and ‘03 to ‘05 and then ran 5 the Marine Corps Marathon a bunch of times since then. I’m taking it off this year but planning to run it again in 2020.

Fresh snow is one hell of a lot better than negatives. Appreciate your honest feedback. ‘09-‘12

damn I haven't run a consistent 6:30 pace since high school. I remember the fun of being that fast and not even giving a fuck about time. My first sub 5:00 mile was on a lark and I wasn't even pushing. I finished at 4:57 and realized I could have probably easily shaved 10-15 seconds or more off if I had actually known my splits and given max effort
