4 with the pups, 2.5 on trails, 1.5 on sidewalk/road. Temps went from the low 40s to the upper 30s while we were out.

40 mins on the treadmill this morning between meetings. I'm just glad I got it in.

Sick for the last 2 weeks + with a bug I couldn't shake. Back on the horse today and didn't take it too easy

3@22:36/4@29:44

I ran the majority at 8.2 on the mill and pushed to 8.5 for the last .75 of mile 4. Felt pretty good but I'm still not over the sniffles so hopefully I don't relapse

8.7 miles Saturday then 4.2 last night with a workout a friend suggested. My legs are dead today...it was a lot of body weight exercises like pushups, situps, squat jumps, lunges, and I forget what else at the moment.

9.7 miles today...grabbed the t-shirt from the 50 miler I attempted a few years ago and the thought crossed my mind to maybe sign up again...

How did you find the 50? I’ve signed myself up for a (hilly) 50 mile race in August of 2019, leaving plenty of time to build up the mileage. Only raced up to the marathon distance before.

Today was my first run in a few weeks after a cold and sprained intercostal muscles, suffered while dancing with my 4 year old. That’ll make you feel like an old fool. Just did a few miles to test things out and felt fine.

50 isn’t too crazy of a jump from marathon distance training. My longest training runs for ultra runs were around 50k, usually with a ten miler the next day.

I am friends with the RD of the 50 miler. I ran it during the Inaugural year but dropped at mile 36 due to injury. Whacked my knee around mile 26 and had to walk a few aid stations to find a car. It wasn't serious but enough I didn't run much for 2 weeks. Better safe and running longer in life than finish something by walking IMHO.
