1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

~9 km in 51:38. Took it really slow (10-11 km/h) and managed to climb a stupid hill in the forest in without walking for the first time ever.

Pretty muddy as we're still in a thaw here, and there was a bunch of dirt covered ice too. Looks like it was a bit of a rough winter, though. Saw a set of rabbit feet on the trail that weren't the lucky kind, and came across this about a mile in. Much fresher than the one I saw in the spring as it still had some hair:

Five flat miles along the Bay on gravel trails. Pace was pretty solid at 8:49/mile (about 20 seconds faster than I've been running lately at home for my easy pace runs. Running 5100 feet lower than home has its advantages!

Around 8 km. Most of the ice is now gone.

The legs -- especially my calves -- were pretty sore today. Tried to take it easy and keep it flat, so 4 miles.

26.4 miles in my trail marathon. Ended up 2nd overall with a 3:29 and some change. The marathon is on a 2 lap course that is shared partly with a 10K and the first lap with half marathoners. This caused me to go out fast where I settled in with another marathoner. We completed the first lap in 1:44ish which I thought was way to fast as the temperature was getting into the 60s and it was faster than most of my training runs. We were sitting 2/3 about 3 minutes back from first so I just slowly pushed the pace knowing I could blow up over the next 13.1 miles. Well my legs held it together and I finished a few minutes back from first and 7 minutes up on third.

I then came home hoping my son would want an afternoon nap but that wasn't the case. Time for a down week then possibly signing up for a May race.

6 this morning. Pissing down rain, puddles everywhere, yet somehow my feet stayed dry. I don't understand how the Kinvara 6 with a primarily mesh upper accomplished this. I have no choice but to conclude that it's some sort of witchcraft.

I tried twice today to go for a run (at Rancho San Antonio and later on the Sawyer Camp Trail). I just couldn't motivate myself, so I'm at the climbing gym.

Yep. I'm flying out of SFO Wednesday afternoon.

And isn't it telling that I have an easier time running in 15 degree weather than in 55 and raining? :embar:

6.4 at lunch. Rain has gone away, temps dropped back into normal winter range, and it was glorious. The weather, that is. My run was meh.

4.7 miles today. Had to fast for a blood test in the afternoon so the run after that was miserable.
