globe posted pics in the "things making me happy thread", I think that was the one.
Spoiler: Warning: Spoiler!
Couple 5k pics from yesterday. I think the strength stuff I have been doing eg core/light weights has really helped me down the stretch of these races.
Cool pics. What kind of compression sock are you wearing?
You must have 0% body fat.
8.36 miles in 1:00:00 on the treadmill Friday
19.97 miles in 3:13:00 to Alpine NJ and back on Saturday
11:22 miles in CP in 1:27:58 on Sunday
they are the new nike socks
I really like them, they are cheaper than others, and feel better on the run. A little less tight than CEP's or Zoots
I got in a nice 6.25 miles this morning before work.
Do you have any info on that 5k at the Detroit Zoo? The only one I know of is not until September 16th when they have a 5k and a 10k. There will also be a 5k in conjunction with the Woodward Dream Cruise this year. I am planning on running in both the 10k at the Zoo in September and the 5k for the Dream Cruise.
It's warm in San Francisco! 4.6 this morning in the NB Minimus. My ankle felt better with these than the standard shoes I've been using. My feet get tired wearing them, though. I guess I just need to stick with 'em and acclimate.
The parking lot I use was nearly overrun with the cars of golf fans seeking free parking for the U.S. Open at the adjacent Olympic Club. I got one of the last spots, and by the time I got back, folks were waiting for people to leave.
3.75 miles plus some body weight work...first hockey game in almost 2 years tonight.
just about two hours very slow today. 14 miles
Plan is to do between 90 minutes and 2 hrs easy each day with no hard stuff for the next few weeks.
Sam, that's almost slow enough to run with me!
3 miles after a strenuous workout late this afternoon.
After spending most of the winter complaining about running and denying my essential runner-ness, I can't take it anymore.
8 yesterday in Mid Day heat.
7 today in night time cool, very fast.
Anyone in for Portugal Day in NYC this weekend?
Coming back to this thread for a little accountability. Nice to see everyone keeping up.
Mea culpa. I misread a poster I saw in a store window. Only yesterday did I learn of my mistake. You are correct.
Here is a race that definitely is going to take place: Detroit River Days 5K on Sat, June 23
From the website:
". Proceeds benefit the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy, the stewards of Detroit’s historic and international RiverWalk and Dequindre Cut Greenway. This 5K run and walk will showcase the Detroit RiverWalk and Milliken State Park."
Should be a scenic race course and for a good cause.
And, the day after, the Heart of Detroit 10 K, 5K (Champions of Charity) race will be held on the streets of downtown Detroit ending up on the field of Comerica Park where, I assume, one will be greeted by Paws! http://www.heartofdetroitrun.com/
3 fast miles early this morning.
