1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Just a check in - I am in week 2 of no running.
Overtraining Syndrome in a major way took its toll, and the only way I am going to get better is to rest. It was hard to accept at first, but doing strength is helping.
WIll resume running the last weekend of march.
    On a separate note
Not sure if there has been any speculation amongst y'all on the adidas boost but it is a cool shoe! It just runs small.

Hey SamBB, good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about rest mandate, but good to find out what was wrong. I think we were discussing the possibility a while ago, but at least you are on the way back. I'm sure you'll be back stronger than before.

11o'clock mentioned the Boost and he was pretty high on it. Mafoofan high on it even. I plan to try a pair. I really liked the Hagio's so if these fit as well and perform better, I'm in.

    7.77 miles this morning.

Any other StyleForum folks planning on registering for the Marine Corps Marathon when it opens up? I ran it in 2010 and I think I am going to run it again this year.

How do you guys recommend a fella get into a running regime? Trying to get into better shape. Right now I could run a mile in about 10 minutes at a 6 mile pace on a treadmill. I am rather spent and winded after this fairly mild run... how can I increase stamina/speed? I want to be able to run 5k within like a month.

Go slowly and just do it. Run at a pace your comfortable maintaining and build up the mileage bit by bit. if you can run a mile now 5k isnt going to be a problem in a month if you work up to it. In my limited experience the way to get started is to go slowly - dont abuse your body and expect it to do things it cant when you first start, you'll just put yourself off. Better to do 5K in 45 min than not at all.

5 1/2 miles for me today - nice day for it

Roughly 7 km (about 4.33 miles) on the treadmill.

    4 miles today.
Clicked on what I thought was this thread and was shocked by the all the high mileage being ran (40+ by all). Took a couple seconds to realize I was in the RIDE thread.
