Fellas, it's great reading about everyone's progress (sam and myles -- big props). I'm slipping in mine. Got food poisoning last week which had me pissing out of my arse for four days -- I thought it was my own cooking but no one else got sick. :fu:

So here we go again...will start with 5km today and work up from there.

I'm doing the same thing, upping my pace over a shorter distance. It's working out well so far. My hope is to continue with the faster pace and return to my typical distance.

5.7 miles in 1hr 8mins. A lot warmer than it has been the last couple of weeks, had sweat dripping down my little fingers and struggled to keep up, although there were a few reasons for that. Can't wait for the clocks to go back so I can get rid of the reflective waterproof and probably not SF-approved orange jacket.

    Good heavens! Great mileage, gents.

    ...

Yesterday I wanted to run 20, but neighborhood issues stopped me. I ended up chasing my son on his bike for 8-9 miles or so around the Woodlands - at a mildly uncomfortable pace for the most part. Today, just 4 miles on a worn-out pair of trainers.

3 miles. Still a lot of ice on the roads.

Spatlese - food poisoning is the worst! Sorry to hear it took you down.
you'll be back in shape in no time though.
10 tonight easy (6 on grass - running 1km loops around a grass field - almost went insane) + core. I need to get more consistent with strength training (every other day) as I have only been forcing myself to do it 2x a week.

The new shoes are f*cking great. Really recommend giving 'em a try.

Before sunrise, 3+ miles. Windchill, 22. It's neat to see all the footprints, human and non-human, on the freshly fallen snow.

A long track workout this morning.

    2 x mile repeats at 6:50 pace, 200m recovery
    20 minutes steady 8:00 pace
2 x mile repeats at 7:00 pace, 200m recovery. (ran in lane 2, not sure how that translates to lane 1)
plus 1.5 miles total to and from the house.

    8 miles.

Actually, I think that one of my repeats went 2k instead of 1600, I kinda lost track of my laps on that one.

Also, it was spooky out there: a dense fog blanketed the area, and the school - for some reason - had their walkway lights off, which was unusual. All I had were the lights from the nearby freeway and - later - the tennis court lights.

Six miles and a strength workout at the Y, during a cutback week.
Spatlese--Sorry to hear about your bout of GI troubles. Best part after feeling like you're gonna die is: a) you're alive, and b) you feel a lot better.:tounge:

3 miles terrain (snowy, wooden ridge) running in the dusk, quite eerie, followed by weights. Been running for a month, lower legs are taking a beating but I'm seeing progress.

Do you mind the 11mm drop? I had a pari of the V1's and liked them except I wish they had a 6-8mm drop.

4 basic route, weather was fine. I think I need to look at getting some new shoes. Have some NB Four20 right now but they've got some miles on them! :)
