only about 2.5 but at a much faster pace. I started a different HIIT workout today and tried to incorporate some very high-exertion, interval cardio into it. Pretty good and feeling better! :slayer:

beginner runner here. Have you guys noticed if long endurance running slims down your thighs and legs?

I haven't noticed slimming in my leg muscles so much, I think if you run a lot of hills you keep decent musculature. In general though running definitely slims you down if you run a lot of miles. It also depends on how you are naturally built.

3 miles at a fairly fast clip. Wind chill, 22 degrees. Not bad.

Seven miles before the snow flew.
Harbin--Congrats on being a beginning runner! Prudent, consistent running does lots of good things for you. Sam's right: individuals vary and different training affects a body differently.

Thanks! I can only run up to 1.5-2 miles before I really feel like stopping and catching up my breath. Any tips on how to really overcome this? should I just keep running that much and eventually I'll be able to run longer distances or should I just really slow down and keep running (if so how much should I run to). thanks in advance guys
