1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    6. First run since my half nine days ago. Combination of work, personal appointments, and being solo with the kids got in the way, but I'm back at it. I think I'm coming down with a cold, but I find that running keeps the effects of colds at bay.

I discovered after playing catcher this weekend in a baseball game with my boys and their friends that there are some muscles on my inner thighs which apparently do not get used at all when I run. Holy sh*t, they're sore, but didn't get in the way of this morning's run.

5.5 miles today, 9:07 pace. Hot as hell, low 80s and sunny...don't know how I'll be able to handle it when it hits summer here

6 miles easy w some friends punctuated by two bathroom stops for me . . . . I chose a route that goes by a rite aid bathroom and a park bathroom evenly spaced with the possibility in mind.
Legs felt okay. Still feeling weird and dehydrated or something from saturday. I have spoilered the details because they are crappy . . . .
Friends were good about it. One of them had seen me sh*t my pants during a workout so he knew it wasn't a false alarm. . . . . Good toilets. Hate running the city streets at night though.

3 miles today. For the first mile, I wanted to run it as fast as I could to see how long it took me - finished it in 6:40, which is the fastest ever for me. Once when I was in 8th grade, I ran it in 6:50 because that's what I needed in order to get my Presidential Physical Fitness award for that year. That was almost 18 years ago, so it feels good to get a new PR for a time that has stood since middle school!

6 miles last night in Manhattan, 5 or 6 tonight in Brooklyn. It has been cold.

5 fast miles. First night run in a long time, over a year I'd say.

4.3 miles today. Ready to get back into things after a nice rest from a few big runs.

Below are some "other" pics from Ireland that arrived today. Not exactly run related, but to be appreciated anyway.

10 today with 5k tempo in 17:20 + 3 hard 800s. The tempo was on a hilly route so I know I am in decent shape.

12.5 miles yesterday evening in some nice weather - 50ยบ, no wind, sunny... I got up to go run another 7 or 8 this morning but it's so foggy that I cannot see more than a foot or two off the porch. Probably not the safest weather to go for a run in.

What are some good gloves to wear when running? Been wearing a $12 Target knit gloves and I lost them the other night. I could get the same one, but I never liked it so much

Dont make a science out of it. Just go to a random store and buy gloves that fit you and that are warm enough for your liking.

12 mile easy run today. Felt great to get out and get some miles in.

Any running store or even Dicks Sporting goods will have some running gloves (non-knit). They will be more expensive than the ones you get at Target. Nike has lightweight and heavyweight gloves. Under Armour has some liner-like with grip on fingers that work as well. Price was about $15-30 depending on what you wanted.
