4 miles very early this morning at a faster than usual pace.
5.96 miles this morning across the Queensboro Bridge in 40:50
Another 2.5 miles last night at a much stronger pace than previously attempted. Will probably continue to try and get my time down to around 7 min/mile before increasing my distance again.
4 miles this morning at a pretty quick pace for me. Ran my usual route backward so that hill that's usually up at the beginning of the run was down at the end. Much more fun that way.
just about 7 for me tonight at easy pace.
100 flights of stairs (not stairclimber) this morning; figured I should start some training for the ESB run up in a few weeks.
I know that it's hilly as hell. I ran a 10K in the city back in '02 or so and the only flat spots to be found were along the river. It was oddly disheartening to climb one hill and then turn to find the hill continuing, over and over and over again. The only respite came once we reached the capital building, and then it was a straight shot downhill to the end (about a mile or so) but by then I was so battered (physically and mentally) that I couldn't change gears.
So I was walking normally again yesterday and thought it a great idea to get out for a few miles this morning. HA! Holy cow. My hip flared up immediately, but I kept at it since the pain didn't get any worse, and I wrapped up 2.7 miles in a leisurely 22:27
5 miles this morning.
how many calories does a body typically burn running 1 mile?
Depends on the body and the pace. Google "running calories"
Verrrrry roughly - 100 calories a mile or so.
If you want to know more precisely I suppose you could get on a treadmill with one of the clip on heart rate monitors, enter your height/age/weight etc. and run a couple of miles at average pace - average that out and you will have a better estimate.
7 tonight for me. Picked the tempo up a bit and immediately realized that I have some serious work to do in the fitness department!
8 GA miles. Two weeks left before I begin my training schedule for my June marathon.
2.7 miles this morning, a bit quicker (20:20) and went with heavier, better-cushioned shoes. Hip hurts less than yesterday, so that's good. Still feeling the effects, though.
Looking at March 3 marathon close to home - too soon?
3 on the dreadmill, first time on the machine in I don't know how long.
4 miles tonight.
